La artista, cuyo nombre verdadero es Mar\u00eda Guadalupe Araujo Yong, naci\u00f3 en Guam\u00fachil, Sinaloa en 1955, hija de Ram\u00f3n Araujo Valenzuela e Isabel Yong, siendo su madre de ascendencia china.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde temprana edad mostr\u00f3 inclinaci\u00f3n por la m\u00fasica e inici\u00f3 su carrera en 1974 en Tijuana, Baja California. Para 1979 adopt\u00f3 el nombre art\u00edstico de Ana Gabriel. \u201cNo me lastimes m\u00e1s\u201d, tema de su autor\u00eda, le vali\u00f3 el segundo lugar del certamen Valores Juveniles y su primer contrato con una disquera, CBS. Su \u00e1lbum debut \u201cUn estilo\u201d fue lanzado en 1985.
