Los tumores a menudo desarrollan resistencias y la combinaci\u00f3n de diferentes f\u00e1rmacos podr\u00eda ser la soluci\u00f3n.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Pero la variedad de medicamentos y las diferentes combinaciones posibles pueden ser tantas que hacer pruebas en laboratorio y ensayos cl\u00ednicos sin tener ning\u00fan indicio previo de los resultados acaba siendo material y econ\u00f3micamente inviable.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigadores de la&nbsp;<strong>Universidad<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Rovira i Virgili<\/strong>&nbsp;(URV) han desarrollado un m\u00e9todo para predecir, con la m\u00e1xima fiabilidad posible, cu\u00e1l ser\u00eda la interacci\u00f3n entre 69 f\u00e1rmacos ante 85 tipos diferentes de c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En esta iniciativa, impulsada por la farmac\u00e9utica AstraZeneca en formato de concurso, participaron 160 centros de investigaci\u00f3n, instituciones e investigadores de todo el mundo. El equipo de la URV se situ\u00f3 entre los diez primeros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marta Sales, Roger Guimer\u00e0, Antonia Godoy y Marc Tarr\u00e9s, del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n SEES Lab del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica de la URV, utilizaron un modelo matem\u00e1tico de redes multicapa que permite hacer m\u00faltiples combinaciones entre las interacciones que ten\u00edan los f\u00e1rmacos entre s\u00ed con los diferentes tipos de c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tasa de aciertos del 75%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Este algoritmo agrupa, por una parte, los c\u00e1nceres que se parecen y, por otra, incorpora otra capa que conforman los medicamentos que se comportan de manera similar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hay much\u00edsimas combinaciones entre capas y nodos, y este sistema permite predecir de forma muy cuidadosa c\u00f3mo ser\u00e1n las interacciones entre medicamentos en cada uno de los tipos de c\u00e1ncer, con una tasa de aciertos del 75 %, s\u00f3lo teniendo en cuenta las interacciones conocidas, sin necesidad de que intervengan otros par\u00e1metros biol\u00f3gicos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abSe trata de un modelo muy sencillo, que tiene el valor a\u00f1adido de que no est\u00e1 enfocado s\u00f3lo a tratamientos contra el c\u00e1ncer, sino que se puede aplicar tambi\u00e9n a otras variables y es muy f\u00e1cil de entender\u00bb, explica Roger Guimer\u00e0 sobre este modelo, que describe todas las capas de forma simult\u00e1nea, lo que permite aprovechar al m\u00e1ximo la informaci\u00f3n contenida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>En este sentido, este mismo modelo se ha utilizado, por ejemplo, para predecir si a un individuo le gustar\u00e1 una pel\u00edcula o no, o si alguna persona decidir\u00e1 cooperar con otra o competir.<\/p><p>Fuente: Externa<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La efectividad de la mayor\u00eda de las terapias utilizadas contra el&nbsp;c\u00e1ncer&nbsp;es de corta duraci\u00f3n.
